About Our Client

Our client is an engineering group specialized in mechanical/engineering technologies. The company has about 10,000 employees through 30 production sites.

In order to strengthen their Headquarter in Luxembourg, we are actively looking for an R&D Manager.

The R&D Manager role is a newly created job which is open under a permanent contract in Luxembourg (CDI).

The position is suitable for people who enjoy developing new ideas and turning them into business opportunities.

Job Description

Your responsibilities:

  • Take a full ownership of Projects management: Collaborate with Operations to achieve project objectives, make sure to implement and drive projects from A to Z.
  • You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within the Business Unit/department to deliver new products to customers in the timeframe expected
  • Accurately maintain R&D project records, proactively providing status reports as required.
  • Manage a team of 10 people: leading and directing the R&D Team by distributing workload and ensuring motivation and performance levels are maintained.
  • Technical Support: You will act as a technical expert supporting the sales team. You will support manufacturing operations in fixing productions issues and/or implementing production improvements.
  • Responsible for innovation processes: developing and executing new product development and works with the commercial team to bring these products to market

The Successful Applicant

Your profile:

  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in Mechanics, metallurgy or/any related technical field
  • Strong experience in managing a team as well as R&D projects.
  • Significant understanding of industrial/manufacturing processes.
  • Strong time management, planning and analytical skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, with excellent client facing skills (external) and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization (internal).
  • An organized problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer usage skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English and German
  • You are open to travel internationally
